OWINGS MILLS, Md. – Iconic Baltimore restaurants Jimmy’s Famous Seafood and Greek on the Street are teaming up to give the 2021 BMW Championship a local flavor, tournament officials announced today.

The two restaurants will bring their popular food trucks to Caves Valley Golf Club in Owings Mills, Maryland, on Aug. 24-29, adding the taste of quality seafood and Greek cuisine to the penultimate event in the PGA TOUR’s FedExCup Playoffs.

“These two area staples will give fans at the 2021 BMW Championship an authentic taste of Baltimore,” said Vince Pellegrino, Western Golf Association senior vice president of tournaments. “Jimmy’s Famous Seafood and Greek on the Street serve local favorites you can’t get at any other PGA TOUR event, creating a truly unique experience for our patrons.”

The 2021 BMW Championship will feature the top 70 players in the FedExCup standings vying for the J.K. Wadley Trophy and a spot in the season-ending TOUR Championship. The event will mark the first time the BMW Championship has been held in Maryland and the PGA TOUR’s first stop in the area in almost six decades.

Stationed in the tournament’s Biergarten, located between the 15th and 16th holes, the food trucks will serve a selection of their most popular menu items.

Jimmy’s Famous Seafood, known locally and nationally for its crab cakes, has been featured on networks like the Travel Channel and Food Network and on shows like “Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives”, “Beat Bobby Flay” and “Ginormous Food.”

“We are thrilled to be part of a historic event, not only for Baltimore County, but the state of Maryland and the world of golf as well,” said John Minadakis, president of Jimmy’s Famous Seafood. “Food brings everyone together, and we look forward to bringing our specialty items to Caves Valley and giving golf fans from all over a taste of Baltimore.”

Greek on the Street has five food trucks, in addition to a catering business that serves Central Maryland and beyond, delivering authentic Greek cuisine. Its vision for serving home-cooked Greek cuisine from a food truck quickly became a hit just as the food truck boom spread nationwide.
“Bringing our food truck to Caves Valley to serve authentic Greek cuisine to the fans at the BMW Championship is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and we are excited to take part,” said Angelo Micklos, Owner of Greek on the Street. “Our restaurant was founded on a love of food and family, and that will come through in the food served during the week.”

In addition to the local food options in the Biergarten, fans at the BMW Championship will have the opportunity to cool off with an iconic Baltimore summer treat – a snowball. Served by members of the First Tee – Greater Baltimore, the desserts will be available between the 9th and 18th greens at Caves Valley’s halfway house called “Little Caves.” A portion of the proceeds will benefit First Tee – Greater Baltimore, a chapter of the international youth development organization that teaches youth core values and life skills through golf.

“We’re excited to partner with First Tee – Greater Baltimore and to use the BMW Championship to make an impact on the community,” Pellegrino said. “This will be a fun way for the participants of this meaningful program to experience the PGA TOUR up close.”
