Opening Drive to kick off BMW Championship week at Bellerive Country Club
ST. LOUIS — St. Louis golf fans can get an early look at the BMW Championship by attending the Opening Drive, a free, family focused event at Bellerive Country Club on Sunday, Aug. 16.
The Opening Drive marks the official start of championship week, with a full day of attractions including early access to official championship merchandise, interactive BMW displays and activations, exclusive photo opportunities, food trucks serving iconic local staples and special appearances from St. Louis sports mascots.
Aspiring golfers can take part in a junior golf clinic on the Bellerive Country Club driving range or take their photo with one of golf’s ultimate prizes – the J.K. Wadley Trophy awarded to the winner of the BMW Championship.
TVs on the course will show final-round coverage of the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis as the best players on the PGA TOUR fight to make the top 50 and punch their ticket to St. Louis.
“This is a celebration of the community that has wholeheartedly embraced the BMW Championship,” said Vince Pellegrino, WGA senior vice president of tournaments. “There’s something for everyone, and we’re excited to welcome fans of all ages to Bellerive to get a sneak peek at everything our championship has to offer.”
Parking lots open at 10:30 a.m. CT, with gates opening at 11 a.m. Admission to the Opening Drive is complimentary. No tickets are required, but fans are encouraged to register in advance here.
There will be no public parking available at Bellerive Country Club. Complimentary parking is available at 121 St. Luke’s Center Drive on the west side of Hwy 141 in Chesterfield, with free shuttles providing a five-minute ride to and from the course.
