ST. LOUIS — The top 50 players in the PGA TOUR FedExCup standings are set to compete in this year’s BMW Championship, Aug. 18-23, as the tournament returns to Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri, for the first time since 2008.

The penultimate event of the FedExCup Playoffs will determine the winner of the J.K. Wadley Trophy and the 30 players who advance to the season-ending TOUR Championship. This year marks the BMW Championship's first visit to Missouri and Bellerive Country Club since Camilo Villegas went wire-to-wire for his first TOUR victory in the 2008 BMW Championship.

Leading the field is FedExCup points leader and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler, who arrives in St. Louis following an eight-shot victory at the FedExCup St. Jude Championship last weekend. The win was Scheffler’s second of the season and 21st of his career, making him the third-youngest player to reach 21 PGA TOUR victories, behind only Tiger Woods and Jack Nicklaus.

The four-time major champion and reigning BMW Championship winner has recorded 12 top-five finishes this season, including five runner-up finishes.

Matt Fitzpatrick enters the BMW Championship second in the FedExCup standings and is tied with Chris Gotterup for the most wins on TOUR this season with three. His victories came at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans alongside his brother, Alex, who is also in the field this week at No. 20 in the standings, as well as the RBC Heritage and Valspar Championship.

Cameron Young sits third in the standings, highlighted by a career-defining victory at THE PLAYERS Championship and a win at the Cadillac Championship this season. His impressive year also includes a T3 finish at the Masters and a runner-up finish at The Open Championship in July.

Si Woo Kim enters the BMW Championship fourth in the standings and leads the International Team Presidents Cup Ranking. Kim has recorded three runner-up finishes this season, including most recently at the FedEx St. Jude Championship in Memphis. His season has been highlighted by 11 top-10 finishes in 22 starts. His last PGA TOUR victory came at the 2023 Sony Open in Hawaii.

Two-time major champion Wyndham Clark rounds out the top five following victories at the 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills — his second U.S. Open title — and THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson. Clark enters the BMW Championship fresh off a T5 finish at the FedExCup St. Jude Championship and has recorded 11 top-25 finishes in 21 starts this season.

Sam Burns (No. 6), three-time winner Chris Gotterup (No. 7), reigning FedExCup champion Tommy Fleetwood (No. 8), AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am winner Collin Morikawa (No. 9) and Ludvig Åberg (No. 10) round out the top 10 in the standings.

Patrick Cantlay, No. 43 in the standings, is the only player in the field to have won the BMW Championship twice, capturing back-to-back titles in 2021 at Caves Valley Golf Club and 2022 at Wilmington Country Club.

Past champions looking to join Cantlay as two-time BMW Championship winners include Scheffler, Justin Rose, Rory McIlroy, Justin Thomas and Viktor Hovland.
